Draft: to be reviewed by the owner and a lawyer before GeoBlitz launches publicly. Text in [brackets] still needs filling in.
GeoBlitz is run by [your name or company]. This explains what we collect, why, and who helps us run the game. Questions: [contact email].
What we collect
- Your account, if you make one: email address, username, and your password (stored only as a scrambled hash we can't read).
- Your games: races and rounds you play, where you dropped in, the views and boxes of your finds, the judge's answers, times, scores and rating.
- Technical details: your internet (IP) address, used to stop abuse and enforce free limits, and a random ID saved in your browser so we can recognize it between visits.
- Cookies: one keeps you logged in, one remembers which creator's link brought you (for 30 days), and one remembers a tester passcode while we're in testing. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the game: matchmaking, races, the daily hunt, ratings, and your profile.
- To keep it fair and safe: rate limits, bot checks, free play limits.
- To understand what the game costs to run and which targets work well.
We don't sell your data and don't show ads.
What's public
Your username, rating, rank, wins and losses, and recent races (with opponents' usernames) are shown on your profile and in results. Your email never is.
Who helps us run GeoBlitz
- Google (Maps and Street View): your browser loads maps and imagery directly from Google. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (the judge's AI): receives a picture of the view you claimed and the target's name, never your account details.
- Neon (our database) and Render (our servers).
- Cloudflare (Turnstile bot check).
- Paddle (payments for Pro). Paddle handles your card details; we never see them.
How long we keep it
Account details stay until you delete your account. Game records are kept for up to [24 months] to keep results and ratings fair, then deleted or made anonymous.
Your choices
- Delete your account anytime from your account settings. This erases your email, password and username; past races stay only as anonymous results.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, at [contact email].
Children
GeoBlitz isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the game.
